Position Overview:

The Financial Specialist role is to participate in the strategic decision-making process of CAPTIN by providing analysis, advice and recommendations and operates at a strategic level monitoring, assessing, interpreting, highlighting and reporting on the fiscal performance of CAPTIN departments with respect to resource utilization, expenditure patterns, statistical and critical indicator data/information, and the meeting of the budgetary targets.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Capital Budget
  • Asset management
  • Inventory Management
  • Financial Statement reporting and analysis; provide monthly KPI reports
  • Coordination of Internal Audit review process
  • Assist in year-end and month-end close
  • Bank reconciliation and Cash Management
  • Sales Analysis
  • Assist in operational budget
  • Review general ledger reports for accuracy, investigate and reconcile account balances         
  • Asset management
  • Prepare journal entries including recurring entries and accruals etc.               
  • Account analysis to explain budget versus actual or actual versus actual results to management
  • SOX Compliance
  • Reconcile & Confirm Customer accounts to ensure accuracy and timely collection

 

Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary degree in Finance, Accounting or Equivalent.
  • Finance and/or Accounting certification are preferable, such as CPA, CMA, CGA and CA.
  • SAP experience, preferable.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relative financial and accounting experience is preferable.
  • Advance Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint experience.
  • Strong Organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent interpretative, investigate, evaluate and analytical skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight time deadlines
  • Strong business ethics and integrity.
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism
  • Sensitivity in dealing with complex and confidential issues
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all management and team members.
