Description

Our client is a full-service provider of innovative tooling solutions. They are positioned to provide economical, high quality products and services just in time throughout North America and Mexico. They are currently seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to oversee product development by analyzing, defining and translating development milestones and supporting the execution of these products throughout the product development life cycle.

Working closely with the design team, the Technical Project Manager will ensure project success by driving day-to-day operations, using project management principles and methodologies to ensure all customer requirements and specifications are captured and designs are ready to be delivered to customers. This individual will possess well-rounded engineering knowledge, leadership abilities, is motivated, assertive and can push for project completions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborating closely with design team, machinists, toolmakers, and assemblers to deliver high-value projects/products to clients.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, resource utilization schedules, and budget materials for multiple simultaneous projects and operational activities.
  • Playing a lead role in all partner interactions within a project. Bring an unrivaled passion for delivery, a positive attitude, and strive to exceed customer expectations in every interaction.
  • Assign responsibilities, set expectations and motivate team members towards achieving project goals.
  • Monitor and control resources, tasks, risks and milestones; initiate changes.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all projects, provide status updates and reports for all stakeholders.
  • Ensure project success by driving day-to-day operations, using project management principles and methodologies.
  • Ensure transparent communication between production and design to efficiently complete change requests.
  • Organize documentation, drawing registers, correspondence, requisitions, drawings, and schedules on projects.
  • Responsible for communicating time estimates and resource requirements on design tasks to leadership.
  • Provide monthly reports on projects’ completion and overall performance.
  • Leverage knowledge of PMLC and experience with using modern PM and productivity tools: Teamwork, MS Project, JIRA, MS Office, Visio.

Qualifications

  • University or College Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Diploma in a technical program
  • 3-5 years of project management experience managing multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM methods, machining and manufacturing techniques
  • Good knowledge of PMLC and experience with using modern PM and productivity tools: Teamwork, MS Project, JIRA, MS Office, Visio.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management, including scope, risk, quality, issue management, communication and stakeholder management.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven Leadership abilities and experience
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD and Catia V5
  • Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
