Description

The Sr. Manager – Human Resources provides overall leadership, administration, and coordination for their respective client organizations, as it pertains to HR matters. The role functions as an HR Business Partner that is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management within the designated business units. The position serves as a consultant on human resource-related issues for employees and management, as well as formulates partnerships with other HR and leadership within the client group subsidiary companies.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for leading and managing HR efforts and issues, in collaboration with HR specialists and business leaders, across the full spectrum of HR functional disciplines.  Acts as a change agent to foster continuous growth of the organization.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state human resource requirements, manage and resolve simple to complex employee relations issues, conduct thorough investigations, provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to maintain conformity with policies and programs.
  • Partner with client management to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives
  • Lead client groups through critical HR operating rhythms such as people reviews, succession planning, salary planning, and performance management, leveraging assistance from HR specialists as appropriate.  Develop strategic HR practices which best support the business and its employees.
  • Act as a coach for leaders and teams to build organizational capabilities, and reduce complexity.  Partner with clients to maximize team performance.
  • Conduct strategic site-wide recruitment effort for all exempt, non-exempt and temporary workers: write and place job postings; determine appropriate compensation; work with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; extend job offers; ensure effective on-boarding.
  • Provide coaching to employees as related to succession planning, career path development, and performance management.
  • Liaise with legal department and client management to develop and execute employment agreements for subsidiary company leadership, as needed.
  • Provide support for international assignments, to include global policy interpretation, drafting and executing offers, and coordinating with applicable vendors and HR specialist to effectively mobilize assignee.
  • Assist with SCOA HR projects as assigned.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Well-developed knowledge and hands on experience of human resources disciplines including, but not limited to, employee relations, recruitment/staffing, training and development, employee/management/organizational development, organizational design, affirmative action/equal employment, compensation planning/administration, and benefits.
  • Knowledge of equal employment opportunity laws and practices, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other relevant federal and state legislation and statutes governing human resources.
  • Experience in developing, designing and implementing effective and impactful human resources policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in making strategic HR decisions, assessing leadership talent, and effectively interfacing with high-level business and operations leaders.
  • Developed (oral and written) communication and diplomacy skill set, with the ability to influence others by presenting sound and logical information and persuasive positions tailored to the audience.  Strong consultative and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to assess situations and make judgements based on practice or previous experience.
  • Strategic mindset and strong business acumen.
  • Excellent collaboration, time management, project management, and change agent skills.
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement.
  • Proven successful experience supporting senior executive leaders.
  • Team player, ability to build rapport, coach and influence across all levels.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft software packages.

Experience and Education: 

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a variety of Human Resource positions with increasing responsibility.
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or related degree.


Must be able to travel ~ 15-20 % of the time.
