Position: Director, Product Management
Summary of Position: Manage day to day business. Expand mechanical tubular business by identifying various opportunities of trade & investment in the North American market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
- Lead day to day transaction through following business flow by supervising and instructing a sales coordinator.
- Maintain & renew contracts for vendors and customers (I-19).
- Order Reception & Order Placement which connects to JIT operation and inventory control in Texas, Georgia, and Indiana.
- Research the customers’ movements and trends.
- Recognize and understand international trade documents.
- Monitor and collect accounts receivable and accounts payables.
- Make and submit Application for Transactions annually.
- Manage property taxes in Texas, Georgia, and Indiana.
- Monitor logistical costs for pricing.
- Analyze ship schedules from Japan, China, and domestic mills, and adjust inventory accordingly.
- Review and approve with signature Sales Orders and Purchase orders.
- Prepare and approve monthly financial statements and balance sheets.
- Manage warehouses in Texas, Georgia, and Indiana for daily shipments.
- Review and approve profitability of all sales orders in SAP
- Review and approve travel and expense reports.
- Make annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Review and approve weekly payroll submissions.
- Reconcile inventory monthly and conduct annual physical inspection of inventory at warehouses.
- Review and issue price schedules on monthly and quarterly basis.
- Ensure archives at Iron Mountain and authorize disposal.
- Conduct LCM (lower of cost or market) analysis for inventory each year and adjust inventory accordingly.
- Expand the business through following actions along with Tokyo Division & Department Business Strategy.
- Make networking in the related industries.
- Conduct the market research for new business opportunities.
- Communicate the results to the Team Leader and Tokyo colleagues and discuss how to attach them to strategy.
- Make, trace and review the budget and the future business plans quarterly and annually with presentations.
Supervisory responsibilities:
- Provide training and guidance for the sales coordinator.
- Delegate/execute administrative duties.
- Direct the department with goals and achievements for the future
Qualifications
- Knowledge of and experience with Steel Products (knowledge of and experience with Tubular Products preferable)

- Knowledge of and experience with Automotive (& Construction Machinery) Parts

- Knowledge of and experience with Supply Chain Management including JIT, Inventory Control, Quality Management System like TS16949, and TPS including Kaizen.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including detailed business reporting abilities.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors’ Degree in Business (or similar field) required
- Masters’ Degree in Business preferred
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Automotive Parts or Steel Products Industries or the related Industry.
