Description
Do you have deep compensation knowledge and experience, ideally working at a flat organization (either currently or in the past), where you are the 'go to' person for Compensation. We are seeking a Compensation Specialist with Workday experience, to work directly for our client in their Mississauga office. Your new title will be Compensation Manager and this is a permanent position with benefits and an excellent bonus plan, working at one of the top 100 Employers in Canada. You will report to the Head of Total Rewards in Canada and will be working in the electronics industry.

What Your Main Priorities Will Be:

Support and participate in all aspects of compensation including market research, data analysis, process enhancement, compensation governance, short and long term incentives, sales compensation, program coordination, compensation administration and policy application.  You will support the design, administration and implementation of compensation programs that align rewards with performance and the Organization’s objectives. You will have the opportunity to lead the implementation of the Compensation module of Workday for Canada including due diligence, testing, data conversion, data integrity, training, migration, integration & report writing as part of this implementation and ongoing support and utilization of the system.  
 
What You'll Do:
  • Manage the companies participation in market surveys to ensure surveys are applicable to jobs and scope cuts, makes best use of available results. Provide recommendations based on results and develop presentation materials.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures to design and recommend plan revision as well as new plans which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and the companies compensation philosophy and business objectives.
  • Ensures base and incentive (short and long term incentives) compensation programs including Sales incentive programs are internally equitable and externally competitive – and still uphold the guidelines and philosophies set forth for the organization.
  • Supports and work closely with HR business partners to ensure that programs are properly implemented; may also occasionally be called upon to provide assistance to employees and managers.
  • Provides advice to HR business partners on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions for specific compensation-related issues.
  • Manage the annual compensation cycle, including data analysis, communication material development, coordination of information in our HR and payroll, and support to managers and HR business partners throughout the process
  • Plan and executes the implementation of Workday supporting integration and data conversion activities of the new capabilities through project management
  • Manage all aspects of the Organization’s global job leveling framework which is the Mercer International Performance Evaluation (IPE) methodology
  • Provides analytical support for a wide range of compensation issues and projects designed to support business strategies.
  • Partner with the Head of Total Rewards to design and deliver/present employee communication and training relating to any compensation programs. Ensure compliance with legislation on pay equity and complete submission and maintenance
What You'll Have:
  • University degree, working towards a related designation (CCP).  
  • 8-10  years of Compensation experience with strong working knowledge of compensation and human resources policies, practices and standards
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft business applications software, compensation software packages, and HRIS systems, Workday experience an advantage
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, well organized with strong project management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and works independently and delivers on end-to-end processes with minimal guidance
  • Detail oriented, strong written and verbal communication required, high sense of urgency and thrives in a fact paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude toward teamwork
