Consumer Intelligence Group (CiG) is looking to expand its development team with several key roles pivotal to supporting its growing SaaS business model. With an established history of 10+ years in the Canadian martech space and a roster of top Canadian clients, CiG is built on a culture of innovation and personal growth. We’re looking for team players who are both excited to collaborate, and confident in their ability to work independently. Build on your skills, take on more senior lead activities and work directly with Senior Management.

Your typical Day-to-Day

• Iterative design & development, regularly showcasing your successes and learnings
• Building high-quality SaaS software following the most effective practices & design patterns
• Working closely with other developers, pair programming, doing code reviews, supporting and mentoring
• Participate in standard agile sessions, such as standups, sprint planning, demos and retrospectives.
• Interacting with Senior Management on strategic initiatives, helping define direction & coordinate execution

Current Projects & Initiatives

• Work closely with senior leadership and the founders and help shape the technical & product development roadmap
• Migration of legacy windows ASP/.NET solution to a modern stack (see technical skills requirements below)
• Develop new features and functionality on the new stack
• Identity & fix performance bottlenecks
• Improve overall solution security
• Help bring development practices to the leading edge – automated tests, clean code, clean architecture, continuous integration/deployment

You Have

• We will consider all talent with exceptional skills in either front-end development, back-end development, and/or production engineering/devops.
• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited educational institution
• Significant work experience with Ruby/Rails/Sinatra web-based applications
• Significant work experience with React, Javascript/Typescript, HTML, CSS
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MongoDB, Redis)
• Significant work experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Significant work experience with AWS, especially RDS, ElastiCache, S3, CloudFront
• Significant work experience with Docker containers, Helm, Kubernetes
• Strong knowledge of web-based to enterprise-level software development, including security and scalability aspects
• Solid understanding of SOLID principles, Hexagonal Architectures, Clean Code and Automated Testing
• Prior experience in a leadership or management role is a plus. The right candidate would have an opportunity to advance into a senior technical leadership role
