We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to produce and implement functional software solutions for both the Polaris Transportation Group and for NorthStar Digital Solutions. You will work with upper management to define software requirements and take the lead on operational and technical projects. You'll be reporting to our Director of Automation Engineering and Application Development and working closely with our Director of Product Development

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Experience working independently through several product development project life cycles.
 
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Develop high-quality software design and architecture, producing, testing and debugging code
• Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
• Work with architects and IT professionals in designing the best suited application programs either build or buy
• Prepare to work towards creating and productionizing applications for market.
• Working closely with Business Subject matter experts on designing and building effective applications for operational and departmental requirements.
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting work with design teams to research and plan for new technologies and application integrations as per changing business landscapes
• Perform validation and verification testing
• Document development phases and monitor systems
• Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies
• Participate in client demos
• Consult with clients, be an instrumental lead in implementations and pre-sales demos.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
• 10-15 years of proven experience as a Software Developer, 3-5 years at a senior level
• 3-5 years experience in developing and building applications for Market space distribution
• Experience developing and integrating with B2B, C2B, A2A platforms.
• Experience with API and SaaS applications is an asset
• Proven working knowledge of programming languages such as Java .net, JSON, C# C++, Visual Basic, DB2 and SQL
• Agile methodology, RPA, ML and AI, Mobile applications and integrations
• Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux, Mac OS, Windows)
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree
