The work you’ll do

Our client is looking for someone to work within a dynamic and growing team to transform their business by developing Industry 4.0 applications and integrating our automation equipment with an IIoT platform like MindSphere or IoT Edge. They need you to connect automation equipment, and other plant floor systems, including front office applications. They want you to share your technical expertise and contribute ideas and solutions towards the evolution of our business and process’. 

Highlights of your new role

  • Design and develop system specifications and provide technical guidance to your team members to meet objectives and schedule
  • Code and integrate machine to machine communication
  • Develop, release, and maintain new product features and extend existing features as required
  • Collaborate with your colleagues, engage in design and architecture discussions and share ideas
  • Develop or port modules and assume responsibility for all code in the systems or modules involved
  • Identify problems and bugs, fix issues quickly or propose solutions for new and existing systems or modules
  • Design applications to balance customer and internal needs.
  • Develop and deliver high impact and quality, well tested and scalable code.

What you’ll bring

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of software design and development with some industrial experience
  • Expertise with:
    • Data exchange languages such as XML or JSON
    • Proficeincy with C#, asp.net and the .net framework
    • A joy for complex integrations
    • Lower level coding- You enjoy building your own libraries
    • Web-based applications primarily with Visual Studio
    • RDB such as MS SQL Server including designing data models, writing stored procedures, and complex queries.
    • TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet IP or Modbus TCP Networking Protocols
  • You love to travel and are keen on the possibility of future international assignments. You possess a valid driver’s license and ability to travel. Travel may be frequent and/or extended to 25% to 40%, North America or International.
