Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will have an opportunity to handle a wide range of responsibilities with a focus on talent acquisition, training initiatives, disability management and the performance review process. You will work in a complex environment however will be provided with excellent training and will have opportunities to gain new skills and build on your current HR skill-set with the mentorship of your manager. What You'll Do:

You will support the Human Resources department in day to day full cycle HR activities including full cycle recruitment, performance appraisal, employee relations, employee training and general HR administration including assisting with compensation and benefits as needed.

  • Full- cycle recruitment and selection process (60-70% of overall responsibilities)
  • Develop, facilitate and evaluate employee training sessions to launch and educate employees on new or existing HR initiatives
  • Short term disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) program administration
  • Manage the performance appraisal section of the Halogen system, other Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and other related HR applications.
  • Active member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee and creating and maintaining HR policies and procedures
  • Full Troubleshooting HRIS system problems, providing user support, designing reports, helping to ensure system integrity, writing user documentation, reviewing system upgrades, and conducting user training
  • Coaching and educating employees to ensure that actions and practices follow the legislation, approved guidelines and best practices
  • Maintaining HR records ensuring integrity, efficiency, and confidentiality of records related to HR activities and transactions
  • Performing day-to-day human resources support and services as well as taking on new HR projects
  • Responding to employee inquiries and liaising with third-party providers

What You'll Have:

  • 4-5 years of experience in an HR Generalist level position; executing full-cycle HR operational activities and working with all levels across an organization in a fast-paced environment
  • University Bachelor degree in Human Resources, behavioral sciences, or equivalent work experience 
  • CHRP/CHRL designation through HRPA an asset
  • Bilingualism in English and French, both verbal and written an asset
  • Strong experience in full cycle recruitment, training, performance appraisal, disability management and compensation
  • Experience in performing day-to-day operations ensuring proper processes and checks are in place, preparing reports and drafting policies
  • Advanced knowledge of and demonstrated experience managing an HR related software (Performance Appraisal systems, payroll systems)
  • Ability to deal effectively with a broad spectrum of HR matters
  • Strong practical knowledge of relevant legislation including ESA, Human Rights, OHSA and other related legislation/regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines, experience in developing and implementing new programs and initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written), sound judgment/problem solving ability along with strong customer service and relationship building skills are essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio) and knowledge of current HR trends and best practices
