Position Overview

The Intern will support the property management team and will be provided with practical exposure to operations and administration in the context of a fast-paced real estate company. Students will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience in a wide range of matters including accounts payable and purchase order creation, collection of monthly rental payments (receivables), tenant service requests, contract management, tenant communications, and data entry.

The Intern role will start on May 15th to August 25th.

  • Work and communicate with people across all levels of the organization, while expanding your business network
  • Perform amongst a variety of teams and develop new skillsets and sources of knowledge
  • Learn and grow as you demonstrate leadership and make connections across our group of companies

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of administrative tasks for assigned staff including draft, preparation and distribution of correspondence, calendar, and scheduling, meeting coordination and E-filing.
  • Address tenant concerns via phone and Angus Anywhere system; ensure they are addressed promptly and escalate to SPM if necessary.
  • Works with operations staff to award work; may open work orders, coordinates and monitors status of work assigned to vendors.
  • Codes invoices for payment, inputs into accounting system and forwards original invoices to accounting for payment.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in Property Management/Real Estate maintenance
  • Proof of good academic performance
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage several projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to learn
  • Interest in the commercial real estate industry

  • Eligible to work in Canada
