Position Overview

This Intern will support the Corporate Accounting team and will get the opportunity for some hands-on experience within the field of Accounting and Financial Reporting at a fast-paced real estate company. Students will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience in a wide range of matters, throughout the work term, students will participate in a number of exciting events, including department information sessions, coffee chats with senior leaders, company-wide culture events, quarterly Town Halls, and skill-building workshops.

The Intern role will start on May 15th to August 25th.


Responsibilities:

You will have the opportunity to work on a number of diverse projects. Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the preparation of the externally published quarterly financial statements and management discussion and analysis of the TSX listed Trust.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives to increase effectiveness and productivity of the Corporate Accounting department.
  • Compile supporting documents for auditors on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist in the maintenance of internal control policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant undergraduate program and area of interest
  • Demonstrates initiative, dependability and reliability, and goes beyond what is required without being asked
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for details
  • Ability to organize and prioritize various tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Work independently and as an integral part of the team with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
