Description

Senior Manager, Project Development
Reporting to the Vice President, Project Development, the Senior Manager, Project Development will lead and oversee the full development of wind, solar and battery storage power projects.

About Cordelio:
Cordelio manages a 1,000+ MW renewable power generation portfolio that includes (i) a 396 MW portfolio of wind and solar projects in Ontario, and (ii) a 656 MW (net) wind and solar portfolio owned by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (“CPP Investments”) through a joint venture with a strategic partner. Cordelio is also actively building a wind, solar, and storage development pipeline with a projected nameplate capacity of greater than 2,500 MW. Cordelio carries out its operations and growth activities by working with all stakeholders in an efficient, safe and environmentally responsible manner. Cordelio is based in Toronto, Ontario, and is wholly owned by CPP Investments, which has C$456.7B in net assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute project development plans to meet project objectives, including cost, schedule, and resources
  • Manage and oversee joint venture and partner developers
  • Lead, provide regular reporting for, and make recommendations regarding project development activities, including:
    • Energy assessment
    • Local municipality, county, state, federal and regional permitting
    • Land acquisition and title curative work, in cooperation with Cordelio land team
    • Commercial and technical aspects of project interconnection
    • Environmental assessments
    • Stakeholder consultation and management
    • Offtake origination and power marketing
    • Project technical design, infrastructure siting
    • Construction contractor selection and contracting
    • Equipment procurement and commercial negotiation
  • Perform and lead due diligence review of prospective wind, solar and/or storage development asset acquisitions
  • Identify or originate new growth opportunities, including targeted areas for greenfield development and existing portfolios for acquisition
  • Manage or lead interaction with a team of internal and external resources
  • Participate in development of company long-term acquisition, development and operation strategies and assist in implementation of these strategies
  • Cooperate with and assist project finance or M&A teams
  • Opportunity for further role expansion into financial and/or technical aspects of project development


Requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines (e.g. engineering, environmental, MBA)
  • Strong track record of successful development of Canada/US wind, solar and/or storage projects in various markets (MISO and/or PJM experience an asset)
  • Strong personnel management skills with proven ability to work well in teams
  • Experience in managing and interacting with remote or indirect internal and external resources, including consultants and contractors
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Travel requirements estimated at up to 20% – 30%

Vancouver or Toronto preferred if candidate is Canadian resident
